Welcome to the web page of the Mid-Hudson Chapter of the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work.  The Mid-Hudson Chapter includes NYSSCSW members living and/or practicing in five counties: Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Counties in the Mid-Hudson Valley Region.

The Mid-Hudson Chapter Board offers its members the services of its Membership Committee, Education Committee, its Peer Consultation Group and its Mentorship Group.

The Mid-Hudson Chapter Board meets four to five times annually (typically, in September, November, February and April or May). Members are welcome to attend Board meetings and to participate in all Mid-Hudson Chapter activities.  The Mid-Hudson Chapter offers quarterly clinical training workshops. Its Peer Consultation Group for licensed social workers and other licensed community mental health professionals meets monthly online. Its Mentorship Group for current MSWs and recent graduates also holds meetings monthly online.

Our Membership Committee seeks out and welcomes new members to our Chapter, our Board of Directors and our committees. We support the Chapter membership by informing prospective members of potential benefits and providing opportunities for networking and socializing among existing members of the Chapter.

Education Committee:

Our Education Committee plans, coordinates and implements the Chapter’s quarterly clinical training workshops which offer attendees the NY State Education Department Approved continuing education credits, You may check the NYSSCSW ACE (Advanced Clinical Education Foundation) website for information about the Mid-Hudson Chapter scheduled workshops, and to register online for a workshop.

Chapter Groups:

Peer Consultation Group:

The Peer Consultation Group provides a setting where licensed clinical social workers and other licensed mental health professionals, who practice independently according to NY State Education Department regulations, meet in a supportive environment to share, discuss and explore cases and issues which they encounter in clinical practice. Meetings are held during the second Friday morning of each month year round.

Mentorship Group:

The Mentorship Group is open to current MSWs and recent graduates who are interested in learning about job searches, obtaining social work licensure, resume writing, advanced training options, and other issues relevant to those who are figuring out their career pathways. Meetings typically take place in the early evening on the third or fourth Friday of each month.
