Dear friends, I hope you will be able to take part in our upcoming film and dialogue event! Please join us for a Netflix online viewing of “Lady Bird”, followed by a conversation immediately afterwards.
Actor-turned-filmmaker Greta Gerwig brings us this coming-of-age story set in Gerwig’s hometown of Sacramento, about an angst-ridden adolescent and the challenges of being a daughter, a student, and a friend. Through this movie, Gerwig looks at the concept of home and how it “only really comes into focus as it’s receding”. “Lady Bird” won the 2018 Golden Globe awards for Best Motion Picture and Best Actress. The running time on Netflix is 1 hour and 33 minutes.
Date: Sunday, March 13th, 2022
Time: 6:15pm – movie viewing*
8:00pm–9:00pm – discussion on Zoom
*Those attending may also choose to watch the movie on their own schedule and then join in for the discussion.
Each participant will receive links to view the movie independently on Netflix and then come together via Zoom to share our perspectives with fellow clinicians (while there is no charge for this event, a paid Netflix account is necessary in order to join in on the 13th). An optional Zoom link will also be available for those who might be interested in using the chat feature for shared commentary during the movie viewing.
RSVP by March 10 to Susan Deane-Miller at [email protected]; she will provide further instructions and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
